August 01 2023

CPT is calling on our coach, bus and manufacturer members to join our free and exclusive PSVAR virtual event with Roads Minister Richard Holden MP, DfT officials and stakeholders to help shape the future of the accessibility regulations.

Date: 1 August 2023
Time: 9am
Location: Zoom (Online)
RSVP: Please email paul.street@cpt-uk.org to confirm your place and joining instructions.

We know how important PSVAR and providing accessible journeys for all passengers is for our members. In 2022, CPT secured medium-term exemptions that enabled a fairer and practical transition to PSVAR compliance until 1 August 2026 for over 17,000 vehicles UK-wide.

At our event, members will be able to have their say on:

  • Which services should be in scope of the Regulations in future
  • What should DfT do next?
  • What other aspects of PSVAR should change

Why it is important to have your voice heard?

On 12 June, the DfT announced a 12 week call for evidence on PSVAR to hear from disabled passengers, the wider travelling public, PSV operators and manufacturers to identify where change might be needed. The government response is expected by the end of 2023 and will set out the next steps for the PSVAR. As the leading trade body for bus and coach, CPT is working with our Bus and Coach Commissions and our wider membership base to create a coordinated PSVAR industry response to the government’s questions.

This important event will be chaired by routeone editor Tim Deakin.

Please register for free for this CPT member-only event by emailing paul.street@cpt-uk.org
