This event is for CPT members only. On Thursday 16 September (0900hrs), CPT is hosting a special Live event in partnership with the Department for Transport to explore and discuss the safety of women and girls on passenger transport.

With a keynote address from Rachel Maclean MP, Parliamentary Under Secretary of State for Transport, our programme of speakers will share examples of best practice and case studies from the bus sector, while also looking at additional measures which could be implemented to offer reassurance to women and girls travelling by public transport.

The operators' view

During this part of the session our panel of operators will share examples of the initiatives and good practice introduced by their own businesses to help create a safe and welcoming travelling environment for female passengers.

We will also be joined by Zoe Harris of the Safer Travel Partnership at West Midlands Police who will give an overview of their work with local operators and the British Transport Police to ensure public transport in the region remains safe.
