The Confederation of Passenger Transport (CPT) has told the Government that any phase out date for the sale of non-zero emission buses and coaches need to recognise the unique challenges of each sector.

The consultation on ending the sale of new non zero emission buses sought views on a potential end of sale date no later than 2032. CPT predicts that, with sufficient government funding over two thirds of all new bus purchases would be zero emission by 2025, due to voluntary commitments made by large bus operators.
