CPT submits responses to DfT’s consultation on ending the sale of new non zero emission buses and call for evidence on ending the sale of new non zero emission coaches
The consultation on ending the sale of new non zero emission buses sought views on a potential end of sale date no later than 2032. CPT predicts that, with sufficient government funding over two thirds of all new bus purchases would be zero emission by 2025, due to voluntary commitments made by large bus operators.
CPT calls for fuel duty recognition for coach operators
As fuel prices remain high in the UK, The Confederation of Passenger Transport (CPT) has called on Chancellor of the Exchequer Rishi Sunak to introduce a fuel duty relief package of £260m for coaches to place the sector on level footing with the rail industry.
