Taking a coach to Slovenia
The Slovenian authorities have introduced VAT on coach services travelling through or terminating in Slovenia. These changes require coach operators to be registered with the Slovenian tax authorities via a very complicated registration process.
CPT is supporting the IRU in making representations to the Slovenian authorities to simplify the registration process and for it to be deferred for 6 months to give operators the opportunity to be registered correctly with the Slovenian authorities. In the meantime Members should be aware that there is the potential for a driver to be stopped at the roadside and receive an “on the spot” fine of up to 900€ for failing to register for VAT in Slovenia. |
