New President for CPT
New CPT President, Ian Morgan
Mr Morgan, who took up his post today (29 January), takes over from previous President, Giles Fearnley.
Ian entered the bus industry joining Eastern National in 1972 after graduating from Birmingham University with a chemistry degree. He joined the Ribble Company in 1974 on the same day as Brian King, trent barton’s Managing Director.
The two have worked together for all but a year since then which he says allows them to manage the business by telepathy.
Ian believes that a commercially run bus industry has a major part to play in delivering the Government’s environmental, economic and social agendas. This is a philosophy that has fed through to trent barton, a company that describes itself as a fiercely independent retailer of destinations focussed on delivering and exceeding its customers’ demands and providing value for money.
It has one of the most modern bus fleets in the country and has a reputation for good quality bus services.
His spare time is predominantly taken up by coaching junior cricket and like the Secretary of State for Transport he is a long standing Derby County season ticket holder. He also finds a little time for wine tasting, riding his motorbike and ballroom dancing.
