CPT Praises Durham and Calls on Others to Follow - CPT Release
CPT's Director of Coaching, Stephen Barber
It follows over 12 months of discussions led by local CPT staff and operators to ensure the best possible solution for all concerned.
Stephen Barber, Director of Coaching at the Confederation of Passenger Transport said, “This demonstrates just what is possible when local authorities and coach operators work together. It is a win, win situation. It benefits the passenger, reduces congestion and has to be better for the environment. I am convinced it will boost tourism to the city as more and more people realise the ease with which they can visit by coach.
He also called on other tourist areas to follow Durham’s example. “The sooner everyone realises the benefits that coaches and their passengers bring and take practical steps to help rather than hinder them the better. Working together benefits everyone.”
